Team Building Adventures

Fun AND Effective. Jackpot!

As part of our sister company, On Purpose Adventures' “Out of the Bored Room” experiential team building services, we offer kayak team building.

Starting at just $60/person, this is one of the most creative and fun activities that a company or any group can do for team building in Charleston SC. Kayak team building delicately combines learning, teamwork, and fun. We have facilitated bachelor(ette) groups with a focus on communication since that is what a great long-term relationship requires, school groups, from teens to college and countless non-profits and corporate groups looking for something engaging and unique to do in Charleston.

Before any session takes place, one of our lead facilitators will speak with your group's coordinator to learn of any specific needs or goals to be reached from your time with us. We will tailor some of the program to subtly or directly address any internal issues your organization might be facing based on your input. To do this we start with 30-60 minutes of land activities to warm up all participants to the creativeness and cooperation that will be required of the on the water.

If you group doesn't know each other we do get-to-know each other icebreakers. If we need to open the door from creative thinking, listening and communication we do other activities. Every session is different. Then we can do 90-120 minutes of kayak instructions and on-the-water activities.

Sessions are 2/2.5 hours and 3/3.5 hours (the range is due to group size, paddle instructions, outfitting and bathroom breaks between land and water activities). These activities pair smaller group challenges with larger and whole group activities. This is to replicate how any organization works in smaller departments and subcommittees and then must join/partner with other units to accomplish even bigger tasks.

Kayaking with dolphins

"Bryson was an excellent guide and took us an enjoyable paddle on Shem Creek. We saw several groups of dolphins swimming right beside us. We paddled out to the bird sanctuary and saw many brown pelicans and several newborns. Bryson gave us an excellent overview of the Charleston skyline and the history of its forts."

"Even though it rained beforehand, it was worth the wait. And rain made the dolphins more active. Bryson was an awesome guide. It was a first for a friend an me and so much fun! Will definitely return!"

Fun, Relaxing, and Informative

"My wife and I took the kayak tour in the early morning. Neither of us had been on a kayak before, but our guide, Jim, had us feeling like pros in no time. The boat traffic was low that day and the water was very calm. Making the day a relaxing, yet fun, way to cap off our vacation."
